Thread Inspector

Paste a link to any post. The full thread loads with every "blocked post" placeholder explained: who blocked whom, and whether it involves you at all.

Signing in lets the inspector see your own blocks. Use an app password, not your main password. Without signing in, only blocks between other people can be explained. On a shared computer, untick "Keep me signed in".

You block this author, directly or through a block list you subscribe to.

Blocked you

This author has blocked you.

Mutual block

You and this author block each other.

Third party

The block is between two other people in the thread, usually the author and the person replying to or quoting them. The inspector checks public block records to say which way it goes.

Unavailable

Deleted, or from an account that is deactivated or taken down.

Privacy This page collects no data

Thread Inspector has no server, database, analytics or tracking. It is a single web page that runs entirely in your browser.
Your app password is sent once, directly to your own Bluesky server, to sign in. It is never saved, by this page or anywhere else.
To keep you signed in, your browser stores the sign-in tokens Bluesky issues. They stay on this device and are only ever sent back to Bluesky. "Sign out" deletes them and tells Bluesky to end the session.
The page only reads from Bluesky. It never posts, likes, follows, blocks or changes anything on your account.
To look things up, your browser talks directly to Bluesky's servers and to plc.directory, the public directory of Bluesky accounts. The page's fonts load from Google Fonts. Those services see ordinary web requests from your browser, as with any site.
Anyone who can use this browser profile while you're signed in can use the page as you. You can cut off access at any time by deleting the app password in Bluesky's settings.
